What a ceramic coating actually does
A professional ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, glass-like sacrificial layer. Once cured, it takes the daily punishment your paint would otherwise absorb: UV, road grime, bird droppings, tree sap, brake-dust fallout and the acid etching they cause. Water beads and sheets off, contamination struggles to bond, and washing the car takes half the time because dirt lets go instead of clinging.
What it is not is a force field. A coating resists chemical etching and keeps the finish sharp, but it won't stop a shopping trolley or make a car scratch-proof. Anyone promising that is selling you a sticker, not a coating — we explain the difference honestly in our plain-English coating guide.
Why preparation is the whole game
A coating seals in whatever is underneath it. Coat over swirl marks and bonded contamination and you've locked the damage in behind glass. This is where cheap "coating deals" fall apart — the product goes on over uncorrected paint, and the swirls glow through the gloss forever.

How long does it take?
A full day at your place for most vehicles. The correction stage is the bulk of it — the coating itself is the final act. You'll need to give the car a curing window before it gets wet, which we'll walk you through.
Do you need anything from me?
Access to power and water, and somewhere sensible to work — a driveway, carport or garage. We bring every piece of equipment and product; you put the kettle on.
Is a coating worth it on a daily driver?
Often more so than on a garage queen. A daily eats fallout, sap and UV every single day — a coating means that punishment lands on a sacrificial layer instead of your clear coat, and the car cleans up like new every wash.
