CommandaPro
The Man Behind the Detail

About CommandaPro — Christopher Perrotta

CommandaPro is one detailer, one van, one standard. I'm Christopher — owner, operator and the only set of hands that will ever touch your car. Around five years of professional detailing, roughly two thousand vehicles, and one belief carried through all of it: every detail matters.

The old way, on purpose

I run CommandaPro on an old-world idea that's gone out of fashion: look after what you own, and it looks after you. We live in a throwaway time — buy it, let it fade, replace it. I think a car deserves better than that. A car is never just a car; it's the school runs, the road trips, the first drive home from the dealership. Stewardship over disposal, every time.

That's why the Journal and every guide on this site are free, with no email wall in front of the useful part. Knowledge shouldn't be a sales funnel. If you have the time and the hands, you can care for your own car with what I publish — genuinely. The professional service exists for what you can't do, or don't have time to do: the machine correction, the coatings, the farm-grade rescues, the standing maintenance arrangement that means you never think about it again.

What five years and two thousand cars teaches

Paint reads like a diary. I can usually tell you where a car's been parked, how it's been washed, and which highway it commutes — from a metre away. Southeast Melbourne writes its own particular story: gum sap and lerp under the trees, brake-dust fallout along the corridors, salt air drifting further inland off the bay than anyone expects, estate dust in the growth suburbs bonding to brand-new clear coat. The Journal exists because knowing the enemy is half the defence.

The other half is craft: proper decontamination before correction, correction before coating, and the patience to do each stage completely. No shortcuts, because there's no manager to hide behind — my name is on every car that leaves the driveway better than I found it.

The practical credentials

Beyond the van, there's a hope I carry for the years ahead — and to be clear, it's a hope, not yet a program. Nothing exists to join today. But one day I long to build a pathway for passing this craft on to young people, especially those doing it tough without many doors open to them. Detailing rewards patience and pride in work, and I want the next generation to see there's a living — and dignity — in doing things properly. When that door opens, you'll read about it here first.

Judge the work, not the words

Have a look at the before-and-afters, then let's talk about your car.
