How we restore headlights
- Wet sanding — the oxidised, yellowed outer layer of the lens is wet-sanded off
- Polishing — the sanding marks are polished out until the lens is clear again
- Ceramic sealing — the bare lens is protected with ceramic, usually our flagship 5-year coating, so it doesn’t yellow straight back
A quick polish on its own can look good for a while, but with nothing sealing the lens it’s exposed again straight away. Taking off the damaged layer and sealing what’s underneath is the difference.
Why we guarantee 3 years, not 5
We usually seal headlights with the same flagship ceramic that carries a 5-year guarantee on paint. On headlights we guarantee 3 years, and here’s why: wet sanding removes the damaged outer layer, and there’s no way to know exactly how much of the lens’s original protective coating is left underneath. So we coat it with our best and guarantee what we know we can stand behind. That’s the honest number.
