How the mould treatment works
- Ozone treatment — an ozone generator treatment is run through the cabin to go after mould spores and the smell they leave
- Deep interior clean — steam, shampoo and extraction physically remove the growth from carpets, seats and trim
- Biofogging — a BioFogger treatment is fogged through the cabin to target mould, fungi and bacteria
- Ventilation — the car is aired out properly before you get it back
For light cases the biofogging step can be skipped — we’ll tell you honestly which one your car needs once we’ve seen it.
Odour removal
Smoke, pets, spilled milk, the gym bag that lived in the boot — smells live in fabric, carpet and foam. Fragrance hides them for a few days; extraction-cleaning the material holding the odour gets rid of them. Full odour removal is $99 added to any detail, and our $18 aircon sanitise is worth adding when the smell comes through the vents.

Common questions
Can you remove mould without an interior detail?
No. Mould treatment is added to a service that includes the interior, such as The Inside Job or The Clean Getaway, because the deep clean is part of the treatment. Killing spores without removing the growth and what it’s feeding on doesn’t last.
How much does car mould removal cost?
Mould removal and treatment is from $250, added to an Interior Detail (from $179) or a Full Detail + Polish (from $499). Full odour removal is $99. Heavy cases are confirmed with you on the day before work starts.
Will the mould come back?
It can if the conditions that caused it are still there. If it grew because of a leak or water getting in, that needs fixing too, or the damp comes back. We’ll point out anything we spot.
Do you just cover up smells?
No. Fragrance only covers a smell up. We remove the source — extraction-cleaning the material holding the odour — and treat the cabin, rather than perfuming over it.
